Where am I from?

I’m from Shuangfeng County, a small county in Hunan, China.

Photography is something I pursue outside of my academic work. It gives me a reason to slow down, wander through unfamiliar places, and pay attention to things I might otherwise pass by.

What camera do I use?

I currently shoot with a Sony α7CR, usually paired with a 35mm G Master lens.

I like keeping my setup simple. A small camera and a single prime lens are often enough—I’d rather spend my attention on what is happening in front of me than on deciding which lens to use.

What do I photograph?

Mostly everyday life.

I enjoy street photography: people passing by, quiet corners of a city, unexpected light, small gestures, and moments that disappear almost as soon as they happen.

I’m less interested in making ordinary life look extraordinary than in photographing it as I happened to see it. Many of the photographs here come from simply walking around with a camera and staying curious about what is happening around me.

Why photography?

I like the idea that a photograph can preserve something insignificant.

A street, a stranger, an afternoon, or a particular kind of light may mean very little at the moment. Years later, the photograph can become evidence that this particular moment once existed.

That is probably what keeps me taking pictures.

This website is my personal archive. I’ll continue adding photographs from daily life and from places I visit.

Some photographs may eventually exist beyond the screen as physical prints as well.
